Major - Final scene set up @Alan

Reference

I recently set up the final scene of my film and one of the things I spoke with Alan about is the background. It was suggested to have the background separated into 4 layers of drawings. The first layer is the main background which is the dark grey background, this will stay static since it isn't really a main focus, the next 3 layers are the visuals that will be moving in opposite directions. A deformer will be added on top of the layers individually to suggest the visuals are moving more freely while rotating.

The visual textures have been added as an opacity texture so in the view-port you can really only see the emissions colour but the opacity texture still shows up in the render, my only issue is the quality of the texture, I exported the UV's out in a 2048 resolution but you can see the quality has decreased a bit in the render.

  1. Hi Meg. The texture quality problem is caused by a mix of UV layout, texture map size, and the scale of the object in the scene. You have exported the map at 2048, then the UV's only use half of that space (1024), and then a scaled big in the scene. To improve the quality you will need to increase the texture map size and increase UV shell size (use the map space more by cutting the UV's up into two pieces).
